Look out for the BBC podcast, The Missing Madonna, a gripping account of the theft and recovery of the Duke of Buccleuch’s Madonna of the Yarnwinder by Leonardo da Vinci. Told from the point of view of Olivia Graham, the daughter of a Liverpool private detective who was involved in returning the painting to Scotland, the twists and turns are vividly brought to life.

Vasarik’s own Thereza Wells, who wrote a book on the painting with renowned Leonardo scholar Prof Martin Kemp, was researching the painting at the time of its theft, getting to examine it again shortly after it was recovered.
